Tough end to a great season. At 80 for 0 in 8 overs most teams would have given up the fight. Difficult to imagine that 10 overs later, they would still need 15 with 6 wickets down and 2 overs to go. It took another lucky top edge off Brett Lee's first ball to make MI's life easier. It was a great fight back from our boys, and coach Whatmore was delighted with the spirit they showed. Good news for the next three years.

More good news. We play in the Champions League qualifiers on the 19th of September with teams from West Indies, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Two of the four qualify for the main draw of the Champions league - so we still have a chance to win some silverware this year.

Lot's has been said about Gautam's injury. My question to every Knight - can you imagine Gautam trying to dodge his duties for India? I have not met a player with more sincerity and dedication. The man wears his patriotism on his sleeve, and it takes a very twisted psyche to doubt his intentions.

This has been en emotional journey, and like all journeys with it's ups and downs. But the ups have been longer, and this team will only get better with team together - don't forget that these players have just had 6 weeks to understand each others strengths and weaknesses. And the last game showed that Tendo and Shakib have still more to offer.

Stay tuned - good times ahead.
