It was was a night to remember. The team made Gautam's home coming very very sweet. The Delhi trip started off with the problems that typify a game in Delhi - too many friends and family and not enough tickets. With 4 Delhi players, Vijay and me on staff and Shahrukh's friends and family, Delhi is one place where it is impossible to satisfy the demand. And with a critical game up front - keeping our players happy is a priority.

That headache inevitable ends about an hour before the game with the last request met or denied.

After that we were in the strange situation of being in town on the 25th, when Delhi was still to play a game against RCB on the 26th. So practice facilities at the Kotla were out of question. We ended up for practice at Gautam and Rajat's alma mater - the Modern School Barakhamba nets. And even the tightest security could not keep away Gautam's ardent fans away from him in his own school, including his dance teacher! Getting our players out on the end was not the easiest jobs.

Add to that Yusuf who had been suffering through te agonies of his first root canal surgery - and you can make out that it was a strange lead up to the game.

It was amazing to watch Dav bounce up and down on the sidelines, Kallis field literally out of his skin - and Brett show off his amazing commitment and athleticism. An easy win would have been pleasant - a hard fought win like this is so much sweeter.
